My artworks combine Trompe l’oeil and Surreal settings of still life. The still life works are a delicate mix of contemporary and traditional techniques that deal with tension between the real and unreal….

This series of work involves realistic images to create optical illusion that transforms the flat surface into depth and relief.
Simple methods of making the familiar seem unfamiliar in order to provoke surprise and invite the unexpected, puts familiar objects in unfamiliar contexts to evoke a new, unexpected response and a new order of beauty.

My pear paintings depict the abstract form of the human body.  Each individual pear has its own distinctive shape, yet all pears possess the same qualities and characteristics of milky smooth surfaces and off-white innards.  Likewise, all human beings exhibit a genuine heart and soul on the inside, despite different outer appearances. I choose subjects that signify the realistic aspect of our lives and weave them into a surreal setting.

Through my paintings, I like to take the view into a different place in him or her mind; a place that doesn’t exist in reality. I exhume entertainment to the viewer that is something whimsical or an unexpected setting or stage to give an object new life and new meanings

“Everything we see hides another thing; we always want to see what is hidden by what we see.”
